iPhone Setup App icon is missing

Help, my iPhone app icon is missing!

1: Restart iPhone
2: Clear storage space
What happened here? Why does this happen?

The first thing you need to do is to restart your iPhone .

A hard reboot is usually the easiest method. It is done by pressing to increase the volume, then decrease the volume, and then press and hold the power button until you see the  Apple logo displayed on the screen .

Sometimes, this alone can solve the missing icon problem or the blank dock problem.

If the iPhone starts the backup and still lacks icons (usually they lose different icons after restarting, like a fun musical chair game), the next thing to do is to clean up some storage space on the iPhone itself.

Go to "Settings"> "General"> "iPhone Storage" and find apps, videos, or other big data, and delete them from your iPhone.

Make sure that the iPhone has at least 1GB of free storage space.

Then restart the iPhone again by turning it off and on again (or hard restarting again).

At this point, the icon should reappear on the screen as expected.

I have personally encountered this problem many times on iPhone 11 running various versions of iOS 14.6 and iOS 14.x, and it is a bit mysterious about what happened. However, because cleaning up storage space and restarting seems to solve the problem, this may just be a quirk that occurs when the iPhone has insufficient space and cannot solve the problem. In my experience, the phone will eventually become like this in the morning after the iPhone is plugged in and left unused overnight, although it is unclear whether there is anything that might be related to the cause of it.
