Microsoft fixes problematic PC Health Check Windows 11 upgrade application

Microsoft has imposed very strict restrictions on which devices can be updated to Windows 11, but even within those limits to its new PC health check application, the application’s ability to notify users of updates seems to provide incorrect information.

Now Microsoft vice president Steve Dispensa said they plan to improve the application to solve these problems.

In addition to correcting incorrectly marked PCs as non-upgradable, other fixes may include instructing users to make their PC compatible (for example, many devices have TPM disabled in the BIOS). It remains to be seen whether Microsoft will enable TM 1.2 devices or devices equipped with Gen 7 and older Intel processors to receive the operating system, although Microsoft has not recommended it, otherwise, Microsoft seems to have just imposed the largest deliberate fragmentation on the Windows platform.
