The current Google Play listing identifies the developer as MobiSystems, uses package com.mobisystems.mobiscanner, and preserves the package identity historically associated with PDF Extra while displaying the MobiPDF name. That continuity helps explain why an old user can encounter both names, but it does not make a 2021 archive current.

A PDF editor receiving updates cannot repair unsupported Windows components.

Verify Every Word, Excel, Image, or ePub Conversion

Conversion reconstructs a new format from PDF objects; it does not recover the original authoring file. A Word export can shift line breaks and fonts. Redact Permanently and Inspect Hidden Data

Placing a black rectangle over text is a visual overlay, not proof that the underlying text or object was removed. It may remain selectable, searchable, copyable, extractable, visible in another layer, or recoverable by deleting the rectangle. MobiPDF provides a dedicated Redact feature; use that workflow rather than drawing shapes.

1. Make a disclosure copy and preserve the unredacted original in its authorized location.
2. Identify every occurrence of names, addresses, identifiers, signatures, faces, barcodes, account details, and contextual clues that must be withheld.

MobiSystems also publishes guidance for viewing, editing, and removing PDF metadata. Metadata can include title, author, subject, keywords, application details, dates, and other properties. Removing visible text does not automatically clear those fields. Filenames and folder paths can also disclose information outside the PDF itself.

A desktop application can work with a file stored locally, but optional sign-in, cloud storage, synchronization, telemetry, licensing, AI, or browser features can introduce network processing.
