Since the beginning of 2021, there has been more and more news about the Huawei Hongmeng system on the Internet. According to industry practice, this means that Hongmeng OS is about to go online.
Hongmeng OS! |
Sure enough, a few days ago, it was revealed that Huawei's new generation of high-end flagship P50 series has completed the adaptation of the Hongmeng OS Beta 2 version.
In fact, earlier, there was news that Hongmeng OS Beta 2 version has begun a comprehensive upgrade.
Huawei MateX2 and Huawei Tablet 2 series will be the first to support upgrades, and subsequent Mate40 series and P40 series will also be supported.
The latest news on March 7 shows that although the Huawei P50 series is not the first model to officially use the Hongmeng system, it is the first flagship with the Hongmeng OS pre-installed at the factory.
At the same time, Huawei’s B station joint operation account @秋叶梓洛 also revealed that the Huawei P50 series has entered the next stage of Beta3 adaptation.
According to previously known news, Huawei's P50 series is expected to be released in late April.
It is worth mentioning that, in addition to fully adapting to smartphones, Huawei officials also have requirements for the Hongmeng system. According to Wang Chenglu, Huawei's internal estimate of the installed capacity of Hongmeng OS in 2021 is 300 million units.
This means that in addition to Huawei mobile phones, Hongmeng OS also needs to adapt to other Huawei smart terminals or some electronic products of its partners.
At the same time, Wang Chenglu also said: "Hongmeng is open. If other mobile phone manufacturers want to use it, we will also support it."
In addition, for some comments that "Hongmeng is a copy of Android", Wang Chenglu explained: "Not all Android code is developed by Google."
The author has learned that most of the code of the Android system comes from the open-source community, and the excellent technologies and codes in the community are all in an open state.
If it is said that Hongmeng has used the open-source code of the Android open source project, it is judged that Hongmeng is a replica of Android, which shows that people with such views do not really understand what open source is.
Wang Chenglu revealed that in October 2021, the open-source code of the third phase of the Hongmeng system will be launched. At that time, consumers could see that the code contributed by Google from the AOSP community was almost zero.
It is worth mentioning that compared to the fragmented and stuttered Android, the Hongmeng system also has the advantages of smoothness and distributed capabilities. And it can be developed at one time and adapted to multiple terminals.
However, there is still a problem that has not been solved before Hongmeng OS, and that is ecological construction.
In this regard, Wang Chenglu also said frankly: The challenge of operating an operating system lies not in technology, but in ecology. Technology can be made by a single company, but the ecology requires the collaboration and cooperation of various companies in the industry.
Currently, what Hongmeng lacks most is ecology. To this end, the Huawei team is already accelerating the promotion of ecological construction, and Hongmeng OS is expected to truly break the monopoly of Android in the future.
